Corum Appointed Vice President of Information Services at McCoy’s Building Supply
McCoy’s Building Supply is pleased to announce the appointment of Joanne Corum as Vice President of Information Services. Corum had previously served as the company’s Director of Information Services since April 2016.
Corum, a graduate of the University of Texas with a degree in Electrical Engineering, worked for more than 10 years at IBM and Applied Materials before coming to McCoy’s. “Joanne has demonstrated her project management expertise as a key leader in a number of major projects such as our disaster recovery upgrade and logistics software pilot,” said Dennis Strong, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer.
A strong focus on planning for the future has been at the forefront of McCoy’s business philosophy for some time, particularly as the company celebrates its 90th anniversary. “We knew we needed to make some key hires from outside McCoy’s as we continued to grow. Joanne is one of those leaders,” shared Meagan McCoy Jones, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. “After several years of searching for the right combination of technical and information services skills plus the right heart and caring for others, we met Joanne. Her promotion is a critical step in our future.”
In her new role, Corum will be responsible for all facets of the Information Services Department at McCoy’s and will serve as a member of the Executive Team. “The most critical success factor for an IT organization is to have a strong partnership with our users. The partnership at McCoy’s is amazing,” explained Corum. “We are truly one team and that environment enables faster, targeted progress. I’m thrilled to be a part of such an aligned culture.”
“Joanne’s promotion is a natural step in the process of identifying the next generation of leaders at McCoy’s,” said Brian McCoy, President and CEO. “She is a talented, engaging and caring leader and we’re proud to have her on our Executive Team.”
