Corum Wins 2023 Enterprise ORBIE
McCoy’s Building Supply recently announced that Joanne Corum, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer, has been awarded the 2023 ORBIE for organizations with over $1.5 billion in annual revenue. She was one of six finalists for the award.
“It’s such an honor to be selected from this impressive group,” said Corum. “I’m thrilled to be the recipient of this award, but I’m even more thrilled for our McCoy’s team to receive external recognition for their excellent work that improves our business and allows us to serve our customers better. I am blessed to work with such a talented team at McCoy’s.”
The ORBIE Awards is the premier technology executive recognition program in the United States. It honors chief information officers who have demonstrated excellence in technology leadership. Finalists and winners are selected by an independent peer review process led by prior ORBIE recipients based upon leadership and management effectiveness, business value created by technology innovation, and engagement in industry and community endeavors.
“Our company is over 95 years old and in an industry not known for innovation. Joanne’s leadership allows us to run our own fleet distribution, provide online services to professional and consumer shoppers, manage intelligent pricing strategies, and much more. Joanne is truly so deserving of this award,” said Meagan McCoy Jones, President and CEO of McCoy’s Building Supply. “We are so proud of Joanne, and I can’t imagine McCoy’s without her. She’s a gifted leader who knows that success is truly a team effort.”
Corum, a graduate of the University of Texas with a degree in electrical engineering, worked for more than 10 years at IBM and Applied Materials before joining McCoy’s in 2016. She currently serves on the CIS Advisory Board at the McCoy College of Business at Texas State University, is a member of the Workday CIO Advisory Council and advises on several other technology boards. In 2020, Corum was named IT Executive of the Year in Austin.
