Huntsville McCoy’s Building Supply Celebrates with a Grand Re-Opening
McCoy’s Building Supply, located at 6021 Highway 75 South in Huntsville, TX recently celebrated major construction upgrades to the store with a Grand Re-Opening and “board cutting” ceremony.
The Huntsville store originally opened in 1983 and has been at its current location since 1995. One of the most exciting improvements to the store was the expansion of the lumber yard and the concrete paving of the entire yard and front parking lot. The front façade of the store was also updated, new LED lights added throughout the property and many areas inside of the store, including the restrooms, were remodeled.
The store held a board cutting ceremony in conjunction with the Huntsville Walker County Chamber of Commerce on May 24. Mayor Andy Brauninger, City Manager Aaron Kulhavy and several members of the Chamber of Commerce attended the event. The board cutting is a unique McCoy’s tradition; whenever a new store is opened, the manager saws through a board painted green and yellow with a handsaw instead of cutting a ribbon.
After the board cutting, over 150 guests enjoyed a BBQ lunch from McKenzie’s, a local Huntsville favorite. Festivities continued throughout the weekend with hamburgers, hot dogs and brats served by Ken Krieger of Lone Star Outdoor Power, a live remote from 101.7 KSAM on Saturday, May 30, and more giveaways.
