Manny Gonzalez Named Regional Manager at McCoy’s Building Supply
McCoy’s Building Supply recently announced the promotion of Manny Gonzalez to Regional Manager. He will oversee eight stores in Texas’s Rio Grande Valley. Gonzalez’s promotion comes alongside the retirement of Regional Manager Leroy Garza after 40 years at McCoy’s.
Gonzalez, a native of San Juan, TX, started his career with McCoy’s nearly 33 years ago as a yard crew member in Pharr, TX. He quickly joined the company’s Management Development Program which helped to hone his customer-centric approach to the building supply industry. Gonzalez served as assistant manager at several stores mainly in the Rio Grande Valley before being promoted to store manager. Most recently, he was store manager in Pharr, TX leading that team since 2001.
When Gonzalez was asked about his goals as Regional Manager, his dedication to McCoy’s company culture had the chance to shine through. “I’m excited to help mentor our teams, allowing them to grow personally and professionally while building strong customer relationships along the way. My goal is to create service consistency throughout our region, giving our customers the best experience in the industry,” said Gonzalez. He also shared his thoughts about Leroy Garza’s retirement saying, “He’s been a mentor to many and a friend to all who have had the opportunity to know him. I’m excited for Leroy and his family on his well-deserved retirement.”
“I’m so excited for Manny to take on this new role,” said Ron Van Winkle, Vice President of Operations. “He has done a tremendous job growing the business in Pharr and leading his team for many years. I know he will be a great mentor for our stores.”
