Okmulgee McCoy’s Building Supply Celebrates with a Grand Re-Opening
McCoy’s Building Supply, located at 3428 North Wood Drive in Okmulgee, OK, recently celebrated major construction upgrades to the store with a Grand Re-Opening and “board cutting” ceremony.
“The people in and around Okmulgee are deserving of a great place to shop for building materials and hardware and we've made a big investment in the store in order give it to them,” said Thomas Taylor, Store Manager. “So far everyone has been very excited about the changes.”
One of the most exciting improvements to the store was the concrete paving of the entire lumber yard and front parking lot. The front façade of the store was also updated and new LED lights added throughout the property.
The store held a board cutting ceremony in conjunction with the Okmulgee County Chamber of Commerce on May 31. Mayor Steve Baldrige, Chamber Executive Director Kay Rabbitt-Brower and several members of the Chamber of Commerce attended the event along with Court Newkirk from the Okmulgee Area Development Corporation. The board cutting is a unique McCoy’s tradition; whenever a new store is opened, the manager saws through a board painted green and yellow with a handsaw instead of cutting a ribbon. After the board cutting, over 150 guests enjoyed a BBQ lunch served by House of Smoke.
